Finding a Counselor
Things need to change due to anger, anxiety, fear, or the challenges of High Functioning Autism (Asperger’s Syndrome).
In addition to a Master of Arts Degree in Psychology, with an associate’s license as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am trained in trauma, High Functioning Autism (Asperger’s Syndrome), and Executive Functioning skills. Currently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. Marriage and Family Therapy program. Using a variety of approaches, I apply this information when working with my clients.
- Bowenian Therapy- An approach that develops the individual self while maintaining connection with families and others. It strengthens the ability to self-soothe and self-confront, which permits an increased ability to contribute in satisfying relationships.
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)- An approach that modifies emotions, behaviors, and thoughts by focusing on solutions, challenges distorted cognitions and changes destructive patterns of behavior.
- Play Therapy- An approach that uses a variety of play and creative techniques to alleviate psychological and emotional conditions in clients that are causing behavior problems and/or are preventing them from realizing their potential.
- Structural Therapy- An approach that helps create healthy alliances, clear boundaries and appropriate interdependence.
